A Field of Buttercups
This session was a lot of fun for a variety of reasons. The setting is a nice little piece of farmland that belongs to my step dad's family. I have memories of going there as a kid and running through the field, playing in the creek, and watching the cows that passed by. There's such a peacefulness that touches your soul when you're out in the country. The quiet is indescribable. I grew up in Aberdeen just a couple blocks from the main road that goes through town. In the evening there is a sense of quietness but it's NOTHING like the quiet that comes with living in the country. It's such a wonderful escape.
Anyway, when Karissa mentioned she was hoping for a family photo in a big field, this was the first place that came to mind. It proved to be a wonderful setting for what her and her family were looking for. A field of buttercups in bloom, a warm, sunny afternoon, and a nice blue sky overhead. It's always tricky trying to get the young ones to smile but as you'll see below, once you just let them have fun and be themselves, the smiles are unstoppable. :)
Thank you, karissa & Ricky, for giving me an excuse to visit this special place in the country. :) All three of you were a joy to work with. By the way, I hope you got that lovely, juicy 'cow pie' out of Parker's cowboy boots! ;)
