7th Street Theatre

A few months ago I got to go on another photographic exploration of the 7th Street Theatre in Hoquiam.  Not only is the theatre beautiful, but there's a lot more to it than what meets the eye.  The extensive system of ropes and pulleys backstage is quite impressive...one has to be well trained to manage all the parts and pieces.  Scroll down to see some of the backstage imagery as well as some photographs of the beautiful interior that greets guests during each event. To learn more about 7th Street Theatre, pick up the Spring issue of Washington Coast Magazine to read the full feature.

Below: A view of part of the lobby.  There is a ramp on each side which leads to guest seating. I love the lobby here, it's always reminded me of Snow White's Cottage. (Which is interesting because I really can't remember if her cottage even looks like this, but it makes me think of the movie every time!) 7th Street Theatre7th Street Theatre

Below: A detail shot of the original square head nails. Each nail is surrounded by a decorative piece that the nail goes through. These kinds of details really add a lot of character to the space.

Below: When the lights go down, if you look very closely, you can see the day lit sky above turns into a starry evening.  There is a system of lighting above the ceiling which shines light through openings in the ceiling to give a beautiful appearance of a clear night's sky. 7th Street Theatre7th Street Theatre
